LakeView Day Camp
LakeView Day Camp is the premier summer day camp in East Brunswick, NJ. We have been serving campers for almost eighty years. LakeView is situated on a 21-acre property distinguished as a wildlife heritage on Farrington Lake. LakeView caters to all age groups from 4 to 15 years old with individualized activities to develop confidence and support personal growth for each camper. Children’s fun and safety are our number one priority! We offer door to door transportation from Jersey City and Hoboken!
We pride ourselves on the safe nurturing community built on amazing staff and great leadership. All our staff are college age and above, with our specialty areas being run by teachers and professionals in that area. Camp has always been about friendship and memorable experiences that we can share with everyone. Among LakeView’s teachers, coaches and counselors, we have the maturity, dedication, energy and passion needed to create life changing summers. A huge part of creating these experiences is the qualified staff members that keep returning every year to LakeView, bringing back core values that they pass on to our campers. Many of our counselors grew up right here at LakeView; they truly care about our camp community and are committed to ensuring that each one of their campers has the best experience imaginable.
LakeView caters to all age groups from 3 to 15 years old with individualized activities to develop confidence and support personal growth for each camper. Our door to door transportation from Jersey City and Hoboken allows our campers to have an experience they may not otherwise have.
Preschool – Kindergarten: At LakeView, Kiddie Kastle is a world where our youngest campers are nurtured and supervised in a safe environment by experienced Division Leaders and Counselors. Through sports, arts, play, swim and adventure, our youngest campers learn new skills using equipment and facilities designed just for them. Through positive communication, we foster a partnership between our family and yours.
First Grade – Seventh Grade: Main camp offers lasting friendships, increased confidence, and unending opportunities for unique challenges. The second through seventh grade programs introduce the concept of choice, the ability for campers to individually design a larger portion of their camp day with each returning summer. Though their years in main camp, campers experience exponential growth in a variety of activities made possible by the highly trained staff at every activity.
Seventh – Ninth Grade: Teens fill their days at camp with 100% choice-based programming, which allows for exhilarating opportunities like Sports League, Video Editing, Set Design and much more. Once a week, teens enjoy day trips to destinations such as Camelback Adventure Park or Broadway to take in a show. The ultimate Teen experience is through our overnight trips. Great destinations, fun and friendship lead to amazing growth in life skills, independence and maturity.
Transportation Information:
Our busses have a CDL-licensed bus driver, a LakeView bus counselor, air-conditioning, seat belts and two-way communication. Our central transportation busses have two bus counselors when needed when we provide door to door transportation from Jersey City and Hoboken. If your child has a need that may require special training or attention, please call the camp office.
For everyone’s safety (which is our highest priority), campers must remain seated and belted when the bus is in motion. Additionally, campers must follow the direction of the bus staff at all times.
The bus counselor will greet you every morning and afternoon and assist your child with getting on and off the bus, this means that the bus counselor should be getting off the bus when they arrive at your stop. We care a great deal about how your child’s day begins and ends at camp! As with any other situation, please let us know immediately should our high standard of care not be met.
Information regarding your door to door transportation from Jersey City and Hoboken, including your bus number and the estimated pick-up and drop-off times, will be mailed during the week prior to the start of camp. It takes several days to establish the best pick-up routine, and sometimes delays occur. To allow all campers to arrive at camp on time, please have your child ready at the scheduled pick-up time. If there are any modifications to these times, we will of course let you know via email or phone.
Each bus is identified by a number displayed in the window. Our bus company’s policy is that buses are not permitted to enter, turn around, or back up in cul-de-sacs. For our campers’ safety, we request that campers who live on streets such as these walk to the entry of the cul-de-sac for pick-up and drop-off.
As buses arrive at camp, our staff are waiting to greet campers as they get off their bus and direct them to their group’s meeting place. At the end of each day, counselors help campers find their return bus. A parent or guardian must be home to receive each camper. If someone other than yourself is going to meet your child, please notify us in advance. If no one is there to meet your child at the bus drop-off, then he or she will remain on the bus and we will contact you. On a daily basis, the bus will pick up and drop off at the scheduled times. If the bus is running more than 15 minutes ahead or behind schedule, you will receive notification from the camp office via text. All campers will be given a safety demonstration on bus safety by the bus staff at the beginning of the summer.
LUNCH AND SNACKS
In addition to the “camper friendly,” delicious lunch and snacks campers receive every day, our campers who receive door to door transportation from Jersey City and Hoboken will also receive a snack on the bus heading home.
